We offer a one year parts and labor warranty that covers both parts and labor necessary to repair your printer in the unlikely event of failure due to normal operation, but not due to customer abuse or disassembly of the printer. We reserve the right to cancel/void warranties if the printer is abused, or written on with things like Sharpies or other instruments, the attachment of cable locking devices used to prevent theft, or where the customer has disassembled the printer and/or caused damage to the printer by improper paper jam removal, or attempts to fix the printer on their own, or by hiring outside technicians to disassemble or repair the printer. Any alteration of the printer by the customer will result in the termination of the warranty, including the upload of Firmware to the printer. DO NOT USE ITEMS LIKE SCISSORS OR LETTER OPENERS TO REMOVE OR CLEAR PAPER JAMS AS DOING SO WILL PUNCTURE THE ITB VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY. The only acceptable way to remove a paper jam is to use your hands pulling the paper out in the normal direction of paper travel.
Additionally, ITB Belts (Image Transfer Belts) on color printers are not warranted. AT ALL. This is a consumable that requires replacing at regular intervals. It can also be damaged by customers improperly removing paper jams, or the improper reassembly of the right door as it can puncture the ITB due to the door not being properly aligned during reassembly. If you can not clear a jam simply by pulling the paper out in the normal direction of the printer, call us to come out and do it. DO NOT disassemble the printer in an attempt to remove paper or any other debris. DO NOT disassemble the printer in an attempt to repair it yourself. Doing either of these terminates/voids your warranty. If you pull the paper jam out against the normal direction of travel, you can and WILL break paper sensing flags throughout the printer. Broken flags are clear evidence to improper removal of a paper jam. In the event a customer damages the printer, it is up to the discretion of our technician as to whether Arizona Laser Printer Solutions will repair it and this decision can be based upon customer history. If the decision is to repair it, it is at the cost to the customer. Repairing a printer under this condition is not a reinstatement of the warranty, but a courtesy to a customer usually in good standing. The warranty shall still be voided.
In the event that the customer or the customer's representative, ie, employees of the customer or service technicians not in the employ of ALPS that you hire to work on the printer, attempts to or succeeds in uploading Firmware to the printer, the warranty is immediately voided. Immediately. Once you upload firmware to the printer, it is no longer considered the printer we sold you. This action falls under "alteration of the printer." If we have to come out and correct the mal effects of such an action, we will bill you no less than two (2) service hours for labor, at the rate of $125 per hour, minimum.
